Instructions for CME Credit
Upon your initial entrance into the website you will be asked to complete a registration form. The information on this form is required for CME documentation and processing of your CME certificate. It will also establish a user record that will enable you to enter and exit the site to complete the educational activities at your convenience. To receive CME credit and a certificate you will need to complete all 5 components of the program. You need not complete all components in one browser setting. Your user record will allow to leave the site at any time and to return to your studies at your leisure to the point from which you left.
To receive CME credit, each participant must:
- View each of the three flash video lectures. Each presentation contains diagrams, charts and graphs to supplement learning and to emphasize certain aspects of the lecture. (.PDF transcripts, of each the presentation, are provided as an alternative to the flash videos.) These transcripts may also be downloaded for future reference by the learner. References are available as additional self-directed learning tools and to provide an evidence base for the presentations. They may be accessed by selecting the supplemental educational resources tab on the left navigation bar.
- Once you have viewed all three video lectures or transcripts the user must view the question and answer (Q & A) video or transcript.
- Next, the participant will complete and submit a short form to verify that he/she completed all 3 lectures and the Q & A.
- The participant will then complete a short evaluation of the program and its effectiveness.
CME Certificates
Upon submission of the evaluation form, a copy of your certificate will appear on your screen. You may save it to your computer or print it at that time. An electronic version of your certificate will be sent to you via email to the email address that you supplied on the registration form.
Supplemental Educational Resources
Participants may also access supplemental educational resources including current guidelines for multi-drug resistant organisms (MDRO) set forth by the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) and those from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In this section the participant will also find the reference lists from each presentation.
